It's Microsoft's cloud ERP built for SMEs: a single system where finance, sales, purchasing, inventory and operations are managed, instead of having that information scattered across spreadsheets and separate applications that don't talk to each other. Being cloud-based, it updates automatically, is accessible from anywhere with a connection, and integrates natively with the rest of the Microsoft ecosystem: Microsoft 365 for email and office tools, Power BI for data analysis, and Power Platform to automate processes or build custom applications. Business Central replaces both old on-premise ERPs (such as old versions of Dynamics NAV) and homemade Excel-based solutions, giving the company a single source of truth about what's happening in each area of the business, updated in real time.
Yes. Business Central is the cloud evolution of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (known as Navision), and Microsoft no longer develops new NAV versions: the latest ones are gradually falling out of official support, with no security updates or fixes. If your company still uses Navision, migrating to Business Central doesn't mean starting from zero: we move your data, your history and your customisations to the new environment, adapting them where needed, so you keep working as before but on a modern, cloud-based foundation with ongoing support from Microsoft. The process includes an upfront analysis of your current Navision (version, modules and integrations) to define the real scope before moving anything, so we avoid surprises halfway through the migration.
It depends on the scope and how many areas and integrations are involved. A limited project — for example, for a company that only needs finance, sales and purchasing, with no manufacturing or complex integrations — can be completed in a few months. One with manufacturing, several warehouses, online store integrations or custom AL development takes longer because there are more pieces to configure and test. We always start with an initial analysis and diagnosis of your processes, which lets us give a fixed, realistic timeline after that first phase, rather than a generic estimate before knowing your case. The project is organised in phases — analysis, configuration, data migration, training and go-live — with clear milestones, so you always know where your implementation stands and what's left ahead.
Yes, and it's a common approach for companies that want to minimise initial risk. You can start with the essential modules — finance, sales, purchasing and inventory — and once your team is comfortable with the system, add extra functionality over time: production, project management, online store integration, Power BI dashboards or Power Platform automations. Business Central is designed precisely to grow with you, so expanding the scope later doesn't mean redoing what already works, just adding new pieces on the same foundation. This also lets you spread the investment out over time instead of taking on one huge project at once, and learn from the first phase before deciding what to add next.
Yes, natively. Power BI connects directly to Business Central to generate dashboards with your sales, finance, stock or production data in real time, with nothing to export by hand. Power Automate lets you automate processes you currently do manually around the ERP: approvals, notifications, document generation or syncing with other applications. And Microsoft 365 integrates at the level of email, Excel, Teams and SharePoint — for example to export and import data with Excel while keeping the connection to Business Central, or to collaborate on documents linked to an order or a customer. This native integration is one of the main advantages of working within the Microsoft ecosystem: these aren't separate products you have to connect with effort, but pieces of the same set designed to work together from the start.
No problem, it's a common situation. We can take over support, consulting and the evolution of your Business Central even if another partner carried out the initial implementation: we start by analysing how your current system is configured, what customisations it has and what processes your company follows, so we can carry on from there with no need to reimplement anything. This is especially useful if your current partner has stopped giving you the support you need, takes too long to respond, or you simply want a closer, more agile relationship. Changing partner doesn't affect your data or your configuration: you keep the same Business Central, only who provides support and evolves the system from now on changes.
